Date Night :)

Brian and I got to finally go on a date last Friday night! We had tons of fun :D
(Pardon the quality of the pics ~ I used my phone)
First stop - We ran by Sears and picked up Brian's tools for his work.
Happy Man

The sunset that night was so pretty!

Next stop: Red Lobster!!!
Happy Lady!

They were out of our favorite - Artichoke Lobster Dip, so we got the Lobster Nachos. And I think we might just have a new favorite! :P

Wiped out!

This is the way my dinner came to the table.
It wasn't presented very pretty, but it was very yummy!

After.
(This was after we filled two to-go boxes....of course.)

There wasn't anything we wanted to see that was playing at the movies, so we just decided to swing by Redbox on the way home.

Of course I had to sneak in just a few more pics when we got home.

We had a great time and I love that after being together for 16 years we can still be silly and have fun!

♥ My Sweetheart ♥

On January 29th this year Brian and I have been together for 16 years and on August 10th we'll be married for 14! Our first date was at a restaurant in Lexington called Daryl's and then to bowl with our best friends and we have been together ever since!

Here are a few pictures from our first Sweetheart Dances from high school:

Usually every Valentine's Day we go to our church's couples dinner, but this year Brian had to work on that night. So tonight we are going on a date! We are looking so forward to going out. Together. Alone! We have always been so protective of who keeps our girls, but we need to be better about having our alone time also. We have alone time, but usually it is watching a movie downstairs while the girls watch one upstairs.

There is no one else on this entire earth that I'd rather be spending my life with and I praise God that He placed Brian and I together when He did. We were both going through some rough times in our families and we helped each other through so much! Brian got saved June 1994 on my couch after church one Sunday afternoon and for that I will be eternally grateful. He has been such a wonderful husband, father, provider, protector, and spiritual leader of our household. I love him more than words could ever say!

♥Happy Valentine's Day Sweetheart!!!♥

Rally for Life at the Capitol Rotunda

Last Wednesday the girls and I went with Bro. Kenny and another couple from our church up to Frankfort for the Rally for Life. This was also to show the House Leadership that we want them to pass Senate Bill 38 that was passed in the Senate the week before. This is what Senate Bill 38 is for: To create a new section of KRS Chapter 311 to require an ultrasound prior to an abortion; amend KRS 311.990 to provide a criminal penalty.
Here are a few pics from our day:
Here is a shot with most people in the rotunda. It filled up even more after this. In fact there were people in the second and third levels.

This sign says it all!

Senator Elizabeth Tori, one of the senators that propsed the bill.

Senator Katie Stine, another senator who proposed this bill.

The Right to Life of Kentucky had a guest speaker also.

Kent Ostrander from the Ky Family Foundation.
As of right now the House Leadership placed this bill in a committee and they haven't taken any action on it. If you live in Kentucky please call the Legislature line and just leave a message for the House Leadership to make sure they allow the ENTIRE House to vote on this bill!

Psalm 139:13-15

"For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth."

Prayer Journals

Last year the girls started doing prayer journals. This idea had come into my heart and we found these cute little journals at a craft store.

The girls LOVE journals/diaries/notebooks of any kind so I knew that they would be excited to do this "new" thing! We have countless notebooks and pads of paper that they have scribbled on since they could hold a pencil/crayon.

On our first day of school after Christmas last year during our Praise and Prayer class I brought out these journals and explained to the girls that they were going to be prayer journals. They could use them in any way that they wanted, to write down prayer requests or to write out prayers to God. How they do it is not as important as why they do it. It is something that they use to journal their thoughts and feelings to their heavenly Father. I told them that I would not be reading them and no one else could read them unless they had their permission. In fact, when I took these pictures I made sure to not read past the top line and to make sure the rest were blurry so you couldn't read what they have written. It is personally between them and their Savior.
All this to say that the girls love doing this and it is something that they look forward to every night before bed. I just pray that it is a tool that they carry on with them.

We serve a Lord that wants us to communicate with Him. As believers He wants to communicate with us. He is not concerned about hearing prayers from us that are formal and repetitious. He wants us to talk to Him and it doesn't matter what time of day it is or what we are doing. Whether you are driving down the road or cooking supper He wants to hear from us. You can say it out loud, in your head or write it down, He wants to hear from you.

Philippians 4:6-7
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Psalm 66:19-20
"But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, Nor His mercy from me!"

A Big Snow......Finally!

After years of waiting we finally got more than a "couple" of inches of snow. I was beginning to wonder if our girls would ever be able to play in knee deep snow! It started snowing Friday evening around 6:00 p.m. and didn't stop until late Saturday afternoon. It is so much fun to watch it fall and for the beauty of God's creation to have a blanket of pure white stretched out over everthing. We took full advantage and played for several hours!

The brightness of this cardinal against all of the white was amazing!

Anna measuring to see the final total.

About 7 inches!

Trying to get Cody to move it and then he didn't want to quit!

He loved running around acting all silly.

There is a small slope on the back of our yard that if you push just right you can slide on down.

Holly enjoying every second of being pushed back up the hill. Anna really loves her! :D

I love black and white pictures....especially of the snow.

Our neighbor's horse was so pretty running through the field.

I must say this snow was so much better than our wonderful ice storm that we had last year during this same week!
Have a blessed week!

Psalm 51:6-7

"Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."
